Three attempts to qualify JEE (Main) 2013

Aspirants will now have three chances to qualify the newly-announced Joint Entrance Exam (Main) to be conducted in the year 2013. The JEE (Main) will determine entry to National Institutes of Technology and centrally-funded engineering colleges, and will be the first stage of the exam prior to JEE Advanced for entry to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Maharashtra Govt and AICTE approved colleges to adopt new JEE

The centralized Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for engineering colleges across India seems to be gaining popularity. Along with the Centrally Funded Technology Institutes (CFTIs), including IITs and National Institutes of Technology (NITs), it has also been accepted by the Maharashtra government and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It means that engineering colleges in Maharashtra and technical colleges approved by AICTE across India will accept JEE scores from next year.

Today there are various government as well as private companies and organizations which pay high salaries to the deserving candidates. Following is a list of such fields !

Management Professionals: With the onset of various MNC’s in India the demand for the management professionals has increased to a great extent. Candidates with a degree in management such as MBA or PGDM are usually paid 7-15 Lakhs per year as the starting salary. The total package may vary depending upon the college from which one pursues the course. Candidates passing from ‘A’ rated institute are always paid high. The salaries range from 4 lakhs to 6.5 lakhs per year and it gets increased if one is a specialized surgeon. Mechanical Engineering Gains Popularity Among Engineering Aspirants

The Central Admission Committee has declared that more & more engineering aspirants are opting for mechanical engineering over other engineering streams. The reason behind the increasing popularity of mechanical engineering as a career option is its impeccable placement record in the last two years. imageIn 2009, companies selected 70 students of mechanical engineering stream from LD Engineering Institute followed by Electrical and Electronics & Communications engineering streams. This year also 51 mechanical engineers have been placed in reputed companies and 21 each from EC and Electrical. Prof KB Bhoyania, Placement officer at LD Engineering College, said, “It has been the trend since the last two years that the highest placement goes to students having taken up mechanical engineering."

Top Engineering Colleges Are Out of AICTE list

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has not approved some top engineering colleges. This is a bad news for candidates who aspired to get an admission in top engineering colleges in the state. AICTE declared a list of approved colleges on its official website. The top engineering colleges like RV College of Engineering, PES Institute of Technology, Malnad College of Engineering, and Sri Channabasaveshwara College of Engineering, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Gokte Institute of Technology and University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering have not get approval for most of the courses and 20 other colleges, including five government colleges are not in the approved list of colleges.
