Now Open book exam for CBSE board exams

Central Board of Secondary Education

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to introduce a Pre Announced Test (PAT) for 2014 board exams for all subjects in class X and selected subjects in class XII. The PAT could be the biggest change in Indian education system as it will follow the ‘open book exam’ concept. The objective of the new format is to bring about a change in the classroom learning process and enhance the analytical skills of the students.

CBSE, Pearson Education team up for school education
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Pearson Foundation have teamed up to set up a centre for assessment, evaluation and research. Coined as government’s first concrete step towards fostering public-private partnership, the initiative is expected to reform the higher-secondary segment. The centre will also lay emphasis on international best practices in school-based assessment, teaching techniques and “high-stake examinations”.
