New entrance test format for IITs, NITs, IIITs from 2013

Aspirants appearing for IITs, NITs and IIITs will have to take to a brand new entrance test format from 2013, which will also take into consideration students’ class XII board results. Students will have to sit for a main test followed by an advanced test held on the same day. Moreover, for admission into any centrally funded institutes, 40% weightage will be given to Class XII score (after normalization), 30% weightage to performance in main and 30% weightage in the advanced test.
